Get into the shopping season with a brand-new line of Xeon Scalable, NVMe-based dedicated servers
The Black Friday-Cyber Monday days are an opportunity for retailers to drive sales, acquire, and retain new customers in the lead-up to the peak Christmas season.
With the new challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, this promo period has transitioned more into a digital affair that spreads out over several days.
While this trend brings even more sales positives to businesses, they are also faced with the rules of this new, economic situation.
The pandemic mindset has made buyers picker when it comes to promo offers giving attention to quality and, in the event of a purely online service such as web hosting, top-class performance, and stability that can back up their online presence in the long term.
Тo help you become adaptable to this new market order, we’ve introduced a major update to our line of dedicated servers by adding six brand new Xeon Scalable configurations and revising the prices of the legacy setups.
A brand-new lineup of Intel Xeon Scalable-based dedicated servers
In tune with the latest workload demands on the market, we have revamped our Xeon line of dedicated servers by adding a brand-new lineup of the latest generation of processors— Intel Xeon Scalable.
The new Xeon Scalable series represents a workload-optimized, security-enhanced breed of processors designed to handle the most high-demand applications within the context of the new data processing realities.
They bring in a host of technological advancements that will help you offer increased levels of speed, reliability, and security to your demanding customers for their mission-critical sites and applications.
We have added six brand new Intel Xeon Scalable configurations, which you can see listed in the table below.
NOTE: All the Xeon Scalable setups are powered by the revolutionary NVMe SSD technology. You can learn more about NVMe and how we have deployed NVMe as a storage solution from the dedicated blog posts.
What is Xeon Scalable about?
The exponential growth and diversification of data processing scenarios in recent years have necessitated higher standards of responsiveness and performance server-wise.
To help data centers and networks build the infrastructure storage/compute providers need to flex and scale to the new market requirements, Intel has introduced their lightning-fast Xeon Scalable processors.
They underline a revolutionary platform that can handle demanding workloads via improved per-core performance, 1.5x more memory & PCIe bandwidth, greater agility, and new security features.
Apart from the new, ground-breaking technological characteristics, enabling significant leaps in I/O, memory, storage, and network performance; the new line of processors comes with a new, more impressive, naming scheme.
The common E3, E5, and E7 lines are replaced by metallic names such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum:
With us, you and your customers can now leverage the power of the next-generation Xeon Scalable platform via 2 Intel® Xeon® Silver and 4 Intel® Xeon® Gold configurations.
Here are the key performance highlights delivered by both types of Xeon Scalable processors:
Intel® Xeon® Silver processors:
- hardware-enhanced performance
- improved memory speed
- power efficiency
- moderate range compute, network, and storage
Intel® Xeon® Gold processors:
- workload-optimized performance
- advanced reliability, availability, and serviceability
- highest memory speed, capacity, and interconnects
- hardware-enhanced security
- enhanced up to four-socket scalability
The new Xeon Scalable configurations have been enabled for all partners across our platform who have not made any changes to their portfolio.
Lower prices and improved disk upgrades for the legacy dedicated setups
The new generation of Xeon Scalable servers now takes a top position in your store, in line with the market demands.
To help align the legacy setups with the new breed of servers, we have applied a few changes to their front-store listing, as follows:
- plan name changes: the naming scheme of the legacy setups has been synchronized with the new servers;
- price revision: the prices of most Atom, AMD, and Xeon configurations have been decreased in tune with the new offerings for an overall more competitive dedicated server portfolio; price reduction reaches up to 40% OFF the original wholesale price.
- new disk upgrades for selected setups: all Atoms and legacy Xeon setups are now equipped with new SSD upgrade options. This SSD upgrade will be in force for all new signups.
- the AMD setups have been discontinued: the AMD1 and AMD2 dedicated servers have been removed from your portfolio; customers with existing AMD subscriptions will be able to renew them at the same prices;
The afore-explained dedicated server portfolio update is now live across your stores.
Partners who have made any changes to their portfolio will not have their legacy plan names changed.
We would advise all of you, our partners, to now modify your dedicated server portfolio’s naming and pricing in tune with your overall marketing strategy.Originally published Thursday, November 26th, 2020 at 1:58 pm, updated December 4, 2020 and is filed under Dedicated Servers.
