cPanel Reseller tutorials – cPanel Webmail clients
In our last cPanel reseller tutorial, Alexandra showed you what the webmail service is about. And since in her article she talked about webmail in general, no explanation of the webmail clients we offer was presented. This is why now she has made an even more detailed review of the three webmail clients offered with our cPanel reseller program.
RoundCube
———
RoundCube is one of the most user-friendly and intuitive webmail clients. It is written entirely in PHP and is based on the Ajax technology, which is also the reason for its fluid and responsive user interface: data is retrieved from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the appearance or behavior of the current page, thus ensuring much faster and more comfortable access to your e-mail.
Besides a neat and light interface, RoundCube also offers a very easy-to-use Address Book and comprehensive setup tool for your e-mail account under “Personal Options” – no complicated terminology or ambiguity, just clearly stated options to make your use of RoundCube easier and more suited to your needs, with the choice of 60 different languages!
RoundCube further offers you easy folder and multiple sender identity management, the ability to drag & drop your messages from one folder to another, and privacy protection through blocking remote image files within received messages:

If you are looking for a light and easy-to-navigate way of accessing your e-mail, RoundCube is your choice!
Horde
——
Horde Webmail offers a multi-functional webmail interface with many additional features besides just checking your e-mail. Horde comes with in-built calendar, google search, notes and tasks – an organizer within your webmail client, accessible from any computer in the world and available in 42 different languages!
Horde Webmail also allows you to easily filter incoming e-mail via the “Filter” function located under “Options” or at the top of the browser window. This option allows you to add e-mails to a Black List(banned senders) and a White List(always welcome to send you e-mail), as well as to create additional rules how incoming e-mail is handled to further protect you from spam.
What is more, Horde allows you to change its layout by changing the position of its different component: you do not want the Google search to be where it is? No problem, you can move it to the bottom of the page!
Should you be looking for an all-in-one e-mail client, Horde sure can meet your needs.
SquirrelMail
————
SquirrelMail is a simplistic webmail interface written in PHP and available in 45 languages. With its HTML look and without much flashy effects, SquirrelMail is supported by all web browsers. It’s biggest advantage lays in the speed it offers, compared to the other mail clients.
The default SquirrelMail look:
Despite its plain default interface, SquirrelMail offers you the options to change its theme and color scheme to your liking without changing its primary advantage and remaining simple and neat:
