.MOBI And .WS TLDs Now Available For Registration
With a focus set on improving the services we offer and following up on the recent domain name updates, we have introduced two new TLDs to the ever-expanding list of available ones – the .MOBI TLD and the .WS TLD. The new TLDs are available for registration for the period of 1 to 10 years from your Control Panel. The .WS TLD was originally the Country-Coded Top Level Domain (ccTLD) for the island of Western Samoa, but was later officially acknowledged as an acronym for WebSite. It’s available for registration to anyone in the world with no special restrictions, whatsoever. If this TLD follows the path of the .CC TLD, it will very soon become a widely popular domain extension. So this is a great alternative option for all of you who have chosen a great company name, but are unable to use it for your online profile since all good TLDs have been already taken. Now is the time to act wisely. The .MOBI TLD is the only TLD out there, which is targeted at the people who rely on their mobile device for daily Internet access. And while there are no special requirements for the registrations of domains with the .MOBI TLD, there are such requirements for the website content under these domains:
- The site contents must be encoded in XHTML-MP to allow mobile users, whose browsers lack the capability of displaying a normally encoded web page, to view the web page correctly.
- The web site must work both with and without WWW. in order to keep mobile users from constantly typing www. at the front of a website name.
- No framed redirections are to be used in a .MOBI site. The preferred way for making a redirection is via an .htaccess file
