The cPanel Reseller F.A.Q.

Over the last month, I have been writing almost exclusively about the Free Reseller Program offered by ResellersPanel. And as one of my co-workers pointed out, it’s about time to say something about the cPanel program that we offer. However, since most, if not all, cPanel programs look alike, in my first cPanel-program-dedicated post I will talk about the specificities in using the cPanel program itself.

Once I decided that the cPanel reseller program will be my next subject I went and gathered some of the most frequently asked questions by our novice cPanel resellers and answered each one of them in an attempt to lay the grounds for a more detailed cPanel Reseller F.A.Q section:

Q: Do you have to create a Package prior to creating a cPanel account?

A: Yes. The packages specify the features of the accounts and there is no way you can create an account without the respective package being created first. When creating packages, you have complete freedom in specifying their features. You can set up a dozen of small packages, offering them to customers with small needs or create one big package, for one big client.

Q: How do I create a cPanel account?

A: You can create a cPanel account manually, from the “Create a new account” menu of your Web Host Manager (WHM). The process is fairly simple – you have to select the package, which will define the account’s features and then select the domain name for the account. To automate this process, you can also use a billing software connected with the WHM. With ResellersPanel, you will receive a free copy of the ClientExec billing software and our technical staff will provide you with detailed instructions on how to connect the billing software with your WHM. This way, when a customer signs up for a new account, his cPanel account will be created automatically.

Q: What do I need to do if I want an SSL Certificate installed for my domain name?

A: In order to get a SSL, you will need to have a dedicated IP address and a generated CSR request. A CSR request is generated from the actual cPanel account, while the dedicated IP address can be purchased from your billing account with ResellersPanel.

Q: What do I need to do to get the free bonuses you provide?

A: All you need to do is ask our technical team to install them for you through a support ticket. By default, the billing software is installed in the domain.com/billing folder, but you can also specify a different folder. Simply make sure that you specify the desired folder when requesting the free bonuses.

Q: Do you keep backups?

A: Yes, a daily and weekly backups are available for all cPanel accounts. Backups are restored by our support team upon your request.

Q: Can I alter the PHP settings on your Servers?

A: Each cPanel server comes with one PHP version supported. On our newest cPanel server, SupremePanel11, the PHP version is 5.2.9. More detailed information on the PHP configuration can be found on http://phpinfo.supremepanel11.com/. If you want to make any custom changes, you can create a custom php.ini file, specifying the exact directive that you wish to change. Have in mind that custom php.ini files are not recursive and you will have to create a new one for each folder where you wish the change to apply.

Q: What are the privileges of your cPanel service?

A:The cPanel program offers several advantages to you. It may not be as user-friendly as the Free Reseller Program and may require more of your time and effort to be configured correctly, but it will allow you more freedom on the side of hosting offers set-up, customer billing and website design. Another advantage of the cPanel program is that customers are easily transferred from one server to another, if both servers are running on WHM/cPanel.

Q: What do I need to do in order for my domain name to start working with your Servers?

A: If your domain name is already registered when you sign up for the cPanel Reseller Program with ResellersPanel, all you will need to do is just wait for an hour for the domain name will be automatically taken online. If your domain name is already registered with another registrar, you have two choices – you can transfer your domain name to us, and take advantage of the private DNS service that we offer you, or you can simply host the domain name with us, by changing its name servers to ours.

When you change the name servers to ours, be advised that the global propagation of the new servers will take from 10 to 24 hours. During this time, your domain name will be inaccessible online. Once the new name servers propagate online, your domain name will start working on our hosting servers. It is recommended to move your site before changing the name servers, in order to have it online as soon as the name server change updates.
