In our third post dedicated to the Awstats section of the cPanel Control Panel, we will take a look at a very important section – the Connect to site from section. This is where you can see how your website is being opened – as a bookmark, as a link from some other site or as a result of a Google search. This can help you determine your regular visitors or plan your link exchange strategy.
Connect to site from
This section is separated into three parts. The first one is Direct address / Bookmark / Link in email.
It indicates the visitors that connect to the site from three directions – using their ‘Favorites’ or ‘Bookmark’ list, by typing the web address directly in their browsers or by clicking on links from emails or other documents (but not from another website).
The second part is Links from an Internet Search Engine. Here are displayed all the visitors that have come across your site as a result of using search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo etc.
The last part of this section is called Links from an external page (other web sites except search engines). If you have promoted your site on some other websites and these websites contain links to your website, here you can see the visitors that have used links from other websites to enter yours. This does not include search engine websites. Click on the name of the external website to visit it and to see their link to your site, if the page in question has not expired.
