Last week, I covered some of the most frequently asked questions about the cPanel Reseller program. However, there were some questions, which I dropped from the list, since they required a much more detailed explanation. In the next few weeks, I will be focused on giving you answers to all remaining questions, using the most detailed information available for each of them. And to begin, I have chosen one of the questions, which is essential to the success of every cPanel reseller: How to connect the Web Host Manager (WHM) with the ClientExec billing software?
The billing software is an important part of every cPanel-based hosting enterpise – it’s the place from where you can manage all your clients and handle all billing operations. This is why, connecting it with the WHM is so important – this way you can create, suspend or delete accounts straight from the billing manager, without needing to use the WHM every time.
Connecting the ClientExec billing software with the WHM can be a bit difficult for the inexperienced user, which is why I have prepared a special step-by-step guide for you.
The first thing you have to do is to request the billing software to be installed for your account. Our support team will do this for you, and will provide you with access to the Client Exec admin panel. Once in there, the first thing that you will have to do is to connect Client Exec with the WHM server. This is done from the Admin -> System Setup -> Servers menu.
I. Server Setup
1. Server name -> supremepanel11.com (this is the name of your hosting server. Supremepanel11 is our latest server – if your account is new, you will probably be placed there. If you are unsure what is your server, you can contact the support team – they will supply you with all the needed information)
2. Host name -> altar11.supremepanel11.com (The exact server hostname. The cPanel servers follow the following pattern : altarX.supremepanelX.com.)
3. Shared IP -> 209.25.134.64 (This is your dedicated IP address, which comes with every cPanel reseller plane)
* Stats URL and Viewable by Customers are left blank
4. Name Servers -> (Place your name servers in here. You can see your exact name server in your welcome email, which you have received upon sign up with the cPanel reseller program.)
dns1.supremepanel11.com 66.40.34.224
dns2.supremepanel11.com 66.40.56.31
5. Server IP Management -> 209.25.134.64 (In here you can put dedicated IP address, which you have purchased with us. By default, you will have just one, but you can always get more and add them via this field.)
This will configure the Client Exec to use the correct WHM server. The next step is to make it use the cPanel plugin in order to find your reseller account on the server.
II. Plugin Configuration
1. Plugin -> cPanel
2. Domains Quota -> leave it blank (for unlimited)
3. Username -> in here fill in your cPanel reseller username
4. Access Hash -> to be obtained from within WHM -> Setup Remote Access Key ** make sure you copy all of it, omitting even one character would render it useless **
5. Use SSL -> No
6. Failure E-mail -> must be a valid e-mail address; all notifications for invalid requests/orders/ and errors are sent there;
7. Available Plugin Events -> tick all the options
Now Client Exec is configured to connect with your account on our server. The next step is very important: defining the web hosting packages.
With this, I will end part 1 of this tutorial. The second part will be available at the end of the week, so stay tuned.
