Hepsia Platform Update: MySQL 8.4 and New Software Stack for Newly Created VPS’s
We’re happy to announce a new round of platform improvements for Virtual Private Servers running our Hepsia Control Panel.
As part of our ongoing efforts to keep the hosting environment modern, secure, and reliable, we have upgraded the core software stack used when provisioning new servers.
New Servers Now Running MySQL 8.4
All newly created KVM and OpenVZ servers with Hepsia are now deployed with MySQL 8.4 by default.
This update brings improved performance, enhanced stability, and long-term support for modern applications.
Along with the database upgrade, several key components of the hosting stack have also been updated to their latest available versions, including:
- Apache
- Dovecot
- Exim
These updates help ensure better compatibility with current web technologies while maintaining the high level of security and reliability our users expect.
It’s important to note that servers using Hepsia do not have root access, which allows us to maintain a consistent, optimized environment across the platform.
Upgrades for Existing Servers
Customers with existing servers can also benefit from the updated software stack.
Because these upgrades involve changes to core services such as MySQL and the mail server components, a brief downtime will be required during the upgrade process.
The exact duration may vary depending on the individual server configuration and workload.

Dedicated Servers Coming Next
Dedicated servers running the Hepsia Control Panel will also receive the same upgrades.
