There are around 50 million new domain name registrations each year. And for the past several years, this number has been growing steadily. With this trend in mind, the organizations that administer the most popular TLDs – .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO and .BIZ, are into the habit of increasing the domain registration/renewal prices each year by 10%. A large amount of money is then invested in improving the hardware infrastructure in order to support the millions of new domain names.
Here, at ResellersPanel, we don’t like to increase our prices since it goes against what we believe in. That is the reason why during the last major price increase in the beginning of 2012 we managed to keep our wholesale prices unchanged, sacrificing our profit margins.
However, we are currently facing yet another price increase, which affects all generic TLDs. And we can no longer keep our current prices the way they are. Here are the new TLD prices, which will take effect on the 29nd of July:
TLD | WHOLESALE PRICE | MIN. RETAIL PRICE |
.com (current) | $9.00 | $10.00 |
.com (new) | $10.00 ↑ | $10.99 ↑ |
.net (current) | $9.00 | $10.00 |
.net (new) | $10.00 ↑ | $10.99 ↑ |
.info (current) | $9.00 | $10.00 |
.info (new) | $10.00 ↑ | $10.99 ↑ |
.org (current) | $9.00 | $10.00 |
.org (new) | $10.00 ↑ | $10.99 ↑ |
.biz (current) | $9.00 | $10.00 |
.biz (new) | $10.00 ↑ | $10.99 ↑ |
Save money – renew your domain name now!
But, there is yet a silver lining. There is a two-week window before we update our prices. During this time our prices will remain the same. You can use this time to register the domain names that you want or to renew your existing domains, taking advantage of the current prices. Also, given the fact that the domain registration/renewal price is very likely to increase with each passing year, you should really consider opting for multi-year domain name registrations and renewals. This can save you a lot of money in the long run. Plus, you won’t have to worry about your domain name’s expiration date each year.
