We have got news from CIRA, the organization that manages all .CA domain name registrations, about some changes they are going to make. They are moving to a new, automated system, which will no longer require manual domain transfers and will allow WHOIS updates.
As of now, each .CA domain can be transferred with the help of an EPP code, just like .COM or .ORG domain names. Each customer will also be able to modify the WHOIS information anytime from their Control Panel. Up until now, the WHOIS information was allowed to be modified only if the domain name changed owners.
Another new requirement for everyone who wants to register a .CA domain is to agree with CIRA’s Terms and Agreement. Registrants will be prompted to do so at the order page.
