Upcoming Changes to Domain Pricing Across Selected TLDs

Over the past several years, domain name pricing has continued to evolve as registries worldwide revise their wholesale pricing models.

At the beginning of the year, another pricing update will take effect, impacting various generic TLDs, new TLDs, and country-code domains.

This update reflects broader market conditions and increased operational costs from global registries – an industry-wide trend we’re seeing across the domain space.

To ensure we can continue delivering reliable services and high-quality support, we’ve implemented minimal but necessary price changes.

Our priority remains keeping pricing as competitive as possible while maintaining the level of service you rely on.

What’s changing?

• Updated TLD pricing will take effect on January 19th, 2026;
• The changes apply to both Free Reseller Program members and cPanel Reseller Platform users;
• The new rates will apply to all domain registrations, including those previously purchased under special offers or promotional plans;

How will the Free Reseller Program be updated?

1. Wholesale domain prices will be revised;
2. Retail prices will automatically adjust to preserve the existing profit margins set for each TLD;
3. Domains already registered under affected TLDs will renew at the updated rates;
4. For customers on recurring billing, the new pricing will apply at the next scheduled payment;
5. In cases where price increases are substantial, existing recurring contracts may be canceled; Customers will then be able to create a new contract at the updated rate;
6. All affected customers will be notified via the ticketing system.

What does this mean for cPanel Reseller Program members?

Once the updated pricing is reflected in our system, any invoices containing affected TLDs will be adjusted within 7 days. This applies to domains that are active, expired, or pending renewal.

All cPanel resellers will also receive an email outlining the changes and any actions that may be required.

How to prepare for the update

To secure the current lower pricing for an additional year, we strongly recommend registering or renewing domains from the affected TLD list before January 19th, 2025.
