The domain name suggestion tool is now faster and more user-friendly
Introduced more than two years ago, the domain suggestion tool has proven to be a great add-on to the domain search form.
To make it more user-friendly and intuitive, we’ve fine-tuned the way it works.
Now it offers more relevant suggestions for a more personalized search experience and is enabled for all gTLDs on our hosting platform.
What is the domain name suggestion tool about?
The domain suggestion tool is aimed at helping you select the best domain name for your site.
It is integrated into the domain search form and offers suggestions based on the keywords specified by the given user.
The suggestions are listed in an easy-to-read manner so that the user can consider attractive alternative web addresses.
The domain suggestion tool deploys the Verisign Name Suggestion Service – a smart API solution aimed at delivering relevant domain name suggestions and at speeding up registrants’ decision-making process.
The Name Suggestion API underwent a few major updates in October and shortly thereafter we implemented them on our end as well.

What’s new in the domain name suggestion tool?
An improved machine learning technology – using state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms, the API will quickly guess your customers’ search intentions and will return more refined domain name suggestions based on:
- popular keywords
- trending news topics
- geolocation
- personal names
Intelligent Rankings – the search results themselves are ranked on the basis of semantic relevance and other factors.
An increased number of domain suggestions – registrants will now get a larger number of domain suggestions, which will increase their chances of finding the most relevant site name.
More TLDs are supported – up until now, the domain suggestion tool has offered support only for the most popular generic TLDs such as .COM and .NET. Now it supports the full range of generic TLDs including .BIZ, .ORG, .INFO and .MOBI.
10 different languages are supported – the newly enhanced API of Verisign now provides meaningful search results in 10 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Chinese.
NOTE: The domain suggestion tool will soon offer IDN support on our end as well, so stay tuned.
